Wipers, Fish Hook and Menin Railway

Sn2. Built to remember the Great War. The layout was an opportunity to depict the brutal conditions that the railwaymen worked in as they supplied the front line. The layout was built to Sn2 scale in order to make good use of the diverse range of highly detailed wargaming figures available. It is 1916 and it is winter. The pictures will do much of the rest.

Cocking – LBSCR 1900

N Gauge. When Dapol brought out their N gauge terrier in the early ‘Improved Engine Green’ Livery, there was no option but to build a layout to display them. The layout was built to scale, with the station building scratch-built, using the Mitchell and Smith ‘Branchlines to Midhurst’ book’s plans as a guide.

Nouvion 1943

1:32 scale, 16.5mm gauge. Nouvion is the name of the fictional town featured in the well loved comedy ‘Allo’Allo. The layout featured lots of cameo scenes, including the Fallen Madonna, however on this occasion it was not hidden in the knockwurst. See which characters you can spot.

Jones the Steam stops for tea – Competition Entry

0-16.5 Whimsy. Built as part of a competition entry at EXPONG. The whole diorama represents a scene from the well loved Ivor the Engine. Everything (apart from the loco chassis- which did operate) was scratch-built. It came joint second in the competition.

East Hants Light Railway

009. An imaginary line in Hampshire that linked Alton to Petersfield. It was imagined that a railway was needed, however funds were limited and the light railways act afforded a more cost effective approach, it was then adopted by the Southern Railway at the grouping. The layout is set in the 1930s. It features a number of scenic details such as birds and wild mammals.

Quahog Lumber Company

On30. An opportunity to demonstrate logging in the American outback. Lovely models fitted with DCC sound.

The Canyon

HOn3. Blackstone models locomotives are just the best. Fitted with high quality synchro sound, they are second to none. So a layout fit for displaying them was built. A deep gorge/ canyon so that the public could be fully immersed.

Wallace and Gromit’s Shunt-o-Matic

1:12 scale, 16.5 mm gauge. Built as a bit of fun. The figures came from Airfix kits and Wallace’s motorbike was converted into a Lister style man rider.

Minions – Secret Underground Lair Layout

Whimsy – G9-ish scale. Built purely for fun and entertainment.
